mickey avalon - john

Mickey Avalon brought out a bizarre gathering of people to Emo’s Lounge most of whom I would guess had never set foot in any of the Emo’s enterprises ever before.  Who were they?  I have no idea.  I saw an awful lot of former sorority girls and tucked in ironed shirts going ape shit and freak dancing.  I did not go to freak dance per se…

I went because:

*I think his whore hop (please lord, let this term I just made up catch on) is funny.

*I like that he has “thank you” tattooed ‘thug life’ style above his genitals.

*I have been liking music lately that is horribly offensive.

From the looks of the crowd, I would have guessed that he has a song on a crappy expensive hair product commercial or some shit.  But oh well.  I had a blast watching the former male prostitute go all Scott Weiland on the stage.

Avalon’s DJ warmed the crowd up nicely with some serious jamz.  I was most impressed by “Gold Digger” with the first few bars of “Closer” looped over it. Avalon came out with a half empty bottle of booze played all the good hits, talked about wanting some prescription pills, played some more filthy sexual songs, the Emo’s security guard almost kicked some dude’s ass for smoking indoors… then before I knew it the packed crowd dispersed and it was all over.

Emo’s lounge doesn’t get the same caliber acts the main Emo’s does all the time but I am finding myself having more and more fun at the Lounge.  It is typically free, the sound is always good, the bathrooms are huge and clean, and the bar staff are top notch.  Won’t you please welcome Emo’s Lounge into your hearts?

Here are some dope Mickey Avalon tracks:
