wolf instore - luther

Just a quick word about the instore at Good last night. I'v been to a bunch of instores, and I have to admit that, while I do like his music still, Mr. Red Hunter didn't really blow me away. The Peter and the Wolf instore was a ramshackle little collection of songs thrown together without much consideration (or guitar tuning for that matter) representing just how much Red seemed to care about making a good impression on the small group that gathered last night. Preempting his show later that night at the less than cool Club Dada (I will never dissasociate it with middle aged men and thier Beatles cover bands), the intimate setting didn't seem to bring out the best in his one man plus a girl going 'ohhhhh' show. I will still make it a point to see him when he has a full band though, because there was still a sparkle of just what the music could be in the right setting.

Check out his new full length Lightness, you can buy it here.

He did have some killer T-shirts for sale though, very nice, I like. You can buy them online here.

Also: The opening act was really quite a pleasant surprise. A young lady from the same fine town by the name of  Dana Falconberry. Pleasantly catchy folky/blues tunes stripped down and layed out by a beautiful and worldly voice, this girl is someone to watch out for.
