Party Ends

   Teitur (pronounced “tighter”) is a twenty something songwriter with an amazing mix of immense sound and that gosh darn “lo-fi” that all the kids are into these days.  This folkie from overseas is really growing on me. I have been listening to his second album Stay Under the Stars pretty much nonstop.  I hate to pull this “Recommended If You Like (insert band name here)” sure shot out… but I don’t have any choice : Bright Eyes - but not as annoying in the least.  There I said it.  Read whatever you want to into that, Teitur uses great strings, accordions, pianos, hand clapping and humming to enhance his acoustic driven songs all the while with engaging and heartfelt lyrics.  It’s really good.   

   Now here is another tricky part of Teitur; he has had tremendous support from the mainstream mom rock heartthrob John Mayer, who has shouted him out in various interviews.  Check this shit out:

   Don’t be so quick to turn your nose up at Mr. 'Your Body is a Wonderland’, though…  check out this clip of his VH1 show intelligently titled “John Mayer Has A TV Show” where the man dons a bear suit (!!!) and makes fun of his fans… he even makes self-aware ‘gay rumor’ jokes and old people jokes!  Hard to beat. This one is even better.    Anyway- I like Teitur’s music quite bit, it relaxes me in this oh so hectic post holiday season of recovering from family, work and booze.
