Some more Sub Pop / Portland goodness for you: the Helio Sequence have been around for a while, but I'm more recently starting to enjoy their melody driven dancy songs to the extent that I would suggest you go check them out. With a nice, big sound for just two dudes, their songs call comparisons to European groups like Junior Boys and a more immediate-sounding Air. Harmonies are strange and original, lending a bit more seriousness to the often falsetto lyrics, while the dirty acoustic drums and electric guitar are a nice contrast to groups in this vein that have a tenancy to stick much more to all electronic instruments. They are also fond of harmonicas, as am I; even with electronic music.

Check out these tracks and keep an eye out for a new album that should be out pretty soon on Sub Pop.
