wow... - luther (dallas,tx)
Well, it's a really slow day in the frivolous pop-culture world. I think everyone saw Bjork on SNL, and everyone is up to date on which suddenly popular indie band has been tacked onto which slightly less suddenly popular indie band's tour / festival date. But, there is some news that just broke and might make the bright future of music a little dimmer.

The recently come of musical age Pitchfork-darling Patrick Wolf just posted on some message board stating that he believes himself to be through with live performance, and maybe the public eye in general. "I have made a decision, my final concert will be this November, a retrospective with an orchestra in London"; those will be some coveted tickets, I tell you what. He seems kind of addled by his new found fame with statements like "...I feel, especially when I read all this and I go about my days that I have failed." Despite some commercial success in the past, he has been rather attacked by responsibility and, I'm sure, expectations recently, and apparently had an on-stage fight with his drummer, but who knows what the real reasoning behind this could be.
Now, apparently there is a distinct possibility that this is completely false, having been posted by someone other that Wolf (though, it's weirdly phrased for a prank), or that the whole thing is some form of Hilton-Richie-Rivalry-esqu publicity stunt. I suppose we'll know soon enough, in the mean time, if you have a chance, and you buy his schpiel, go see him live if you can.

Chuck B...i wouldnt say it was just when he was gettin started.he got started a long time ago .people are finally startin to recognize him and his musical genius.people always hate when one of their favorite bands become mainstream or when people you think wouldnt normally listen to it then start listening to them and havent been there from the begginging like we have.that always bothers me.yes im sad that i never got to witness PW in person but it definitely didnt suprise me that he came to this decision.we can only hope that he keeps makeing great music.i hope this makes some kinda sense.drunken blogs are the best.goodnight

Forgive ME, but more about the subject, please!! You are going away from the topic too frequently, therefore it is uneasy to read your posts.
