Remember Tenacious D? Remember how it was really funny and underground and they made an album with that guy from the Foo Fighters and toured with Weezer? You laughed a bunch at “the D’s” love of rock and their affection toward acoustic guitars. Then they made an embarrassing Hollywood movie called the Pick of Destiny and all the interest in guitar-based comedy was wiped completely away. Well have I got a solution for you!
Flight of the Conchords is a new show on HBO (duuuh, same birth place as Tenacious D) where we, the viewing audience get a rare comedic glimpse into the lives of New Zealand's fourth most popular folk-parody duo. The series premiers on June 17th. If you have ever needed a reason to pirate HBO or breakdown and splurge for it- the time is now.
