yeller belaire fever- john (austin,tx)

What a day! Tonight is the Belaire CD release show! Oh man, oh man! The Party Ends division of Dallas is making the drive down in a true sign of solidarity behind historical synth-indie-pop! The last Belaire show was in June of 2006, and since then- fans of killer harmony and large amounts of keyboards have been bubbling at the mouth in anticipation of any sort of activity at all. Sure, sister Cari has been busy around Austin, sister Christa doing amazing art up in New York, and the rhythm section making magazine covers all over town with Voxtrot- but nothing is quite like the sweet sweet experience of Belaire. I can’t wait to get my hands on their first full-length Exploding, Impacting and truly get summer into full swing.

I caught openers Yellow Fever on the Mohawk ‘s recycled wood framed inside stage recently and had a blast. With their simple lyrics about boys, girls and.... boys- this group makes the extraordinarily simple extraordinary enjoyable. Friend to Party Ends Reynard Seifert was on hand with a roll of 35mm and took some b&w photos to (thankfully) remind us all that there was a time before megapixles.

Red Leaves opens the show tonight as well… this is the release show to beat in Austin.
